Your Chiropractor will be Dr Tim Leeming, an Australian-born Kiwi who feels more at home on the Sunshine Coast than anywhere else! Tim was raised in the far south of New Zealand where, like most Aussie and Kiwi kids, he tried just about every sport and extracurricular activity he could growing up. After some relatively successful years playing rugby union at highschool, Tim eventually settled into his chose n sport of rowing, at which he worked his way to representing New Zealand in Trans-Tasman regattas and even travelled to China to race against renowned universities such as Yale, Oxford and Cambridge.
After graduating with two separate degrees (Chiropractic, and Sport & Exercise Nutrition with First Class Honours), Tim and his better half - Casie - moved from New Zealand to South Australia. In January 2020, the two relocated to the Sunshine Coast to settle closer to family.
Tim is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable exponent of natural health. He has worked with elite international athletes through to weekend warriors, growing families, busy business people, overworked farmers and tradies, young ones and those in their golden years. Tim continuously educates his chiropractic patients, as well as the wider community (online and in Gympie), about how to live well and in tune with nature. It’s Tim and the team’s goal at Cooloola Family Chiropractic to help Gympie to become the healthiest community in Australia.
When Tim is not in the office giving great adjustments or inspiring health talks and workshops, you’ll find him out in the surf, or running the trails with his dog.
Your Massage Therapist is Esther Carpenter. Esther is energetic and enthusiastic, with a genuine desire to help improve your quality of life. Even though she was born in a booming suburb of Sydney, most of her childhood was spent in the outback mining town of Mt. Isa, QLD with her three siblings. Along with her family, they then moved to Cairns where Esther took on leadership responsibilities at high school as School Captain and Sports Captain. After graduating, she then moved to Melbourne, Victoria to continue studying and increase her opportunity in the employment industry.
Esther completed several business courses and worked in the field of Human Resources and Recruitment for a few years, but she decided to follow her heart and the recommendations from colleagues and peers to pursue a career in Massage. After completing an accredited course in Health Science Massage at Victoria University in Melbourne, Esther still continues studying to build on her skills and techniques as she applies her knowledge and experience in her therapy. In the past 20 years, while Esther has held senior leadership roles in business and not-for-profit settings, she has also worked as a Small Business Owner in a full time and part time capacity in her own massage business, Hand to Health Massage.
Esther’s passion for people’s well-being is exemplified in her choice of career and in her commitment to help alleviate tension, discomfort of stress in the body and muscle pain through massage therapy. Esther offers a great variety of skills and techniques for you to benefit from; all of which are listed below.
Esther and her husband, Peter have made the move to Queensland to find a property and settle down after spending the past 2.5 years travelling in their caravan. In her spare time, Esther supports Peter in home-schooling their five children and enjoys living their simplistic lifestyle.
Hi there, I’m Karla and I am the Office Manager here at Cooloola Family Chiropractic.
I started my CFC journey on Valentine’s Day 2018, so it only makes sense that I would fall in love with my job (I know that sounds cheesy but that is one of my many hidden talents – my bad jokes!) Working alongside Dr Tim and the team is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. Every day I continue growing and learning more and more about health and its relationship to the spine and the nervous system.
I am blessed to have been made aware of Chiropractic at such a young age, the differences it has made for me personally have been unbelievable, but I am also very grateful to have my family and loved ones cared for by such a brilliant and experienced Doctor as Dr Tim is.
A few things you may not know about me:
I look forward to meeting you in the office and getting to know you!
Hiya! My name is Mikayla and I’m the Junior here at Cooloola Family Chiropractic. You may have seen me helping out here in the office a few afternoons a week, or on my school holidays. I love coming to work after school because it's such a positive environment filled with encouragement and new opportunities to learn!
I became a patient here at Cooloola Family Chiropractic all the way back in 2018 and fell in love with the place! It only makes sense that I was stoked to have the opportunity to work here and get to know our awesome team. I’ve learnt so much about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and the significance of chiropractic for our everyday lives! I have so much gratitude for chiropractic care and the difference it’s had on my life, especially from our brilliant chiropractor, Dr Tim.
